Hamlet of Vervoz
The architecture of Vervoz is typically condrusian and we find there almost all its characteristic elements to be begun with the famous masonry with rubble stones not jointed with cement forming the long wall lining the street as well as the chapel Saint Hubert. Buildings date the XVIth in XIXth centuries.
The site was occupied since prehistoric times and under Roman occupation, it was a Vicus.
The hamlet is located only 14 km from Durbuy, pearl of the Ardennes and the smallest city in the world.

Ocquier is a village that lies 2 km away from Vervoz. It reflects a unique architectural design, including : the Castel du Val d’Or, a farm from the 11th century, a former postal house, la cour des moines (the monks’ court), the former priory of the abbey of Stavelot, a wheel mill from the 18th century and the Roman church Saint-Remacle that is a registered historic monument.
A grocery store, an artisan bakery, a pharmacy and a popular restaurant complete the offerings of this quaint and friendly village.

Once an enclave in the principality of Liège, the rural municipality of Clavier lies on the border of the three provinces of Liège, Namur and Luxemburg. The landscape shows the typical hills and valleys of Condroz. Together with Bois-et-Borsu, les Avins and Terwagne, Clavier belongs to the eastern part of the Condroz region and borders on the Belgian Ardenne. It is one of largest municipalities in Belgium and has the highest density of castles per km2 : the castle of Ochain (with a 17th century façade), the castle-farm of Ponthoz from the 17th century and the castle of Vervoz, whose farming fixtures and the chapel Saint-Hubert form a remarkable 18th century ensemble.

Condroz, wide crescent of land traversing Wallonia from east to west, offers a landscape made of peaks and picturesque valleys surrounded with a large number of woody zones. Numerous rivers appear to bend and meander, hugging the walls of a village in the charm of former days. Seven of these quaint villages close to the guest house have been awarded "The nicest villages in Wallonia".
A country marked by castles and bordering on the Famenne and the Belgian Ardennes, the Condroz could be called "the small Belgian Loire".
